Writing Laboratory
Writing Lab focuses on grammar and mechanics and has two primary goals for students who complete the course: 1) to develop grammar skills necessary for effective writing at the college level and 2) to earn at least a C or higher in English 1401, Writing Workshop. Class Procedure: Writing Lab classes meet twice per week, and students will work on assigned exercises, take quizzes, and receive assistance on writing assignments during those classes. Generally, the first class of the week will review and test reading assignments. On the second day of classes each week, students will work with tutors recommended by their writing instructors for their outstanding work in Writing Workshop. These tutors can assist students in completing exercises and also help students with writing assignments for classes.
