Building a professional network does not mean asking people you barely know for jobs. Networking is simply the process of building genuine professional relationships, learning from others, and staying connected to people who may help you better understand careers and opportunities.

You can begin building your network while you are still in college.

Build Your LinkedIn Profile

LinkedIn gives you a place to create a professional online presence, explore organizations, learn about careers, and connect with people in your field.

A strong student profile should include:

• A clear, professional photo
• A thoughtful headline
• Your Kentucky Wesleyan education
• Work and internship experience
• Volunteer experience
• Skills and relevant accomplishments

You do not need years of professional experience to create a strong profile.

Networking on Campus

You do not have to attend a large networking event to begin networking.
